Description:
It is an honor to share some of our most exciting news yet! The Greater Whittier LGBTQ+ Center will be the new hosting space for @operationhealthyhearts weekly pop-up safe space events. Join us next Thursday March 27, 2025, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm for the debut of this beautiful partnership.
Operation Healthy Hearts was established in 2012 as a grassroots organization aimed at addressing food insecurity among individuals experiencing homelessness. Led by founder Jaqueline Villalta (she/her/ella), OHH now hosts pop-up safe space events that provide a range of essential resources including hygiene items, harm reduction supplies, clothing, pet supplies, warm meals, foodbank items and haircuts! Other resources at the pop-ups include job placement assistance, transportation aid (Metro passes), legal support, and general case management services/referrals.
We are overwhelmed with joy at the potential behind this collaborative effort between amazing individuals and community-based organizations like @reach_la, @legalaidla, @betterangelsla, and @lacada_social who are passionate about reducing barriers to care limiting marginalized populations from accessing the services they need and rightfully deserve.
Need a ride? Take Norwalk Transit 7 from El Monte Bus Station to Painter/Mar Vista- Just a 2 minute walk away. Don't miss this amazing community effort!
